Paying For Dental Care: A Guide To Your Options

WE DON’T SIMPLY clean teeth and fill cavities at our practice—we educate our patients! From the moment you walk through our door to the moment you schedule your next appointment, we’re prepared to guide you through each step of your visit.

One topic we are often asked about is paying for your dental care. Maintaining your teeth and your overall oral health doesn’t have to clean out your wallet, so today we want to provide you with all of the information you need to know when you’re scheduling your next appointment.

We Have Payment Options To Suit Your Needs

Over the years we have developed many different payment options for our patients. Unfortunately, over time we have seen dental benefits decrease making dental care more of a burden for you and your wallet.  When dental benefit plans were developed in the 1960’s the maximum coverage for a policy was $1000, now in 2017 the maximum coverage for many plans is still $1000 – no adjustment for inflation has occurred making the plans great for covering basic hygiene visits, but bad for almost anything else.  Our priority is making ideal dental care affordable and able to fit your lifestyle and budget.

Dental Insurance

We will file your dental insurance benefit for you as a courtesy and we will fight for you and your needs with the company if they deny coverage, but there are some battles we never win.  Your dental insurance benefit will limit your hygiene visit out of pocket cost, it may cover the entire visit, but we are seeing many plans now cover the visit at a lesser percentage giving you some out of pocket expense.  As we age and take more medications increasing dry mouth and decay we often recommend a preventive fluoride treatment at hygiene visits, services such as these are often not covered.  Any major work in dentistry

Any major work in dentistry is ften only covered at 50% leaving you with a large out of pocket investment to make, due to this we have developed other payment options.

Financing Options

We will often break-up payments over three months for you.  We simply keep your credit card information on file for the allotted time period and charge your card monthly for the amount.

We use Wells Fargo as our third party financing, this allows you to extend payment further (typically 12 months) with no interest to you.  As a courtesy to you, our patient, we cover your interest payment.

Some patients do not care to use either of those options.  If neither of those work we set up a prepayment plan prior to treatment or offer a 5% discount on your total if paid with cash or check PRIOR to your appointment.

Bright, Healthy Smiles Are Priceless

Whichever option you choose, we are committed to providing our patients with quality, personalized care. If you have any questions about payment for your oral health care or if you’re curious about specific treatment pricing for yourself or someone you care about, feel free to give us a call. We’d love to help you receive the care you need at the price that fits your budget.

Thank you for continuing to place your trust our practice.
